Australian Rhythmic Gymnastics team conquers gold in AYOF 2013
The Australian team of Rhythmic Gymnastics won an incredible victory over one of the strongest sports countries, China, having won gold at team competitions last Friday.
Tara Wilkie, Marlee-Sheh Haldane, Anastasia Kezerayos and Michaela Uaytkhaus dominated in the most beautiful sport with the final score 145.233, close followed by China (139.617) with silver and Malaysia (129.917) with bronze.
The Sports Center in Sydney Olympic Park hooted from delight, watching future Olympians’ performances with ribbon, ball, hoop and clubs.
13-year-old Wilkie was extremely happy about her team’s effort, as well as producing the highest individual score of the day.
“I thought our whole team did really well. We all pushed up and even if we dropped or anything we still made it,” Wilkie said. “I think (next time) we just have to relax and go out there and fun.”
Well, the situation is heating up. Australia is really getting better, and the same can be said about Malasia, they also showed great results at this competition. We wish good luck to all the teams. Get ready to next Chmapionship!
